Sizing Your Enphase Battery System
Enphase IQ Batteries are modular, so storage is sized in steps rather than one fixed unit. The right size depends on what you want to keep running during an outage and how much of your solar you want to use after dark.

Using More of Your Own Solar in Michigan
DTE Energy and Consumers Energy customers with solar are billed under Michigan’s distributed generation program, which replaced net metering for new solar customers. Power you pull from the grid (inflow) is billed at your regular rate, while extra solar you send to the grid (outflow) is credited at a lower rate than what you pay for power you buy.
With IQ Batteries and the Enphase App’s self-consumption mode, more of your daytime solar stays in your home for the evening instead of going out at the lower credit.

How We Choose Equipment, and Why Enphase Makes the List
We are not tied to any manufacturer, so every system we design starts with your home rather than a product line. Enphase is one of the systems we install, and we recommend it where its strengths match the home: roofs with shading or multiple orientations, homes where panel-level monitoring matters, and projects that start with solar and add storage or EV charging later.
We only work with brands we trust and would install on our own homes. We do this to ensure that every customer is satisfied with their solar setup.
For other homes, a different system is the better fit. We also install Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH battery systems, and we will walk you through why we are recommending one for your home.

Does Enphase offer a warranty?
Yes. Enphase IQ8 microinverters come with a 25-year limited warranty, and current Enphase IQ Batteries, including the IQ Battery 5P and IQ Battery 10C, are covered by a 15-year limited warranty. Separately, Strawberry Solar offers a 10-year workmanship warranty on the installation.
What battery sizes are available?
The current Enphase IQ Battery line is modular. The IQ Battery 5P provides 5 kWh of usable storage, and the IQ Battery 10C provides 10 kWh. Units can be combined for larger storage needs.
What battery technology does Enphase use?
