Does the Tesla Powerwall have a warranty?
The Tesla Powerwall is covered by a 10-year comprehensive warranty, the same warranty period that applies to both Powerwall 2 and the newer Powerwall 3.
What is the usable storage capacity of a Powerwall?
The Tesla Powerwall provides 13.5 kWh of usable energy storage. The newer Powerwall 3 maintains this same storage capacity as the Powerwall 2.
What battery technology does the Powerwall use?
The Powerwall 3 uses Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, a change from the nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) cells used in Powerwall 2. This switch to LFP technology offers benefits in longevity and safety.
What happens during a power outage? Will my home stay powered?
Yes, the Powerwall is designed to provide backup protection during grid outages. When the grid goes down, your Powerwall automatically switches to battery power to keep your home running. For most homes, you can receive whole-home backup to power your entire house during an outage, giving you energy independence.
