Solar is an important weapon in the fight against climate change. The fossil-fuel based electricity sector accounts for 29% of global warming emissions in the U.S. If this same electricity came from renewable energy sources, like solar, its global warming emissions would decrease by 81%.

Furthermore, solar doesn’t create the negative human health effects caused by burning coal or natural gas. Pollution from burning these fossil fuels is linked to asthma, heart attacks, cancer, and other serious health problems, costing an estimated $74.6 billion every year.
